On August 19, 2026, eight fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students together with two IT faculty members participated in the Isabela DigiWork Expo held in the Provincial Capitol Amphitheater in Alibagu, City of Ilagan, Isabela. The group worked with faculty and students from a wide range of public and private institutions of higher education in the region to be part of the latest developments impacting the technology sector.
The expo was a big highlight of the second day of the wide-ranging 2-Day Digital Forum which had the topic “Empowering Communities Through ICT: A Multi-Stakeholder Approach to Building Isabela’s Digital Future”. The symposium emphasized the need for cooperation between academic institutions, local authorities and private sector executives in an effort to build a strong, technology-driven regional economy.
A series of expert-led talks on key themes relevant to today’s job economy. The training sessions delved into international online job marketplaces, strategies for building a digital workforce ecosystem, and the role of artificial intelligence in revolutionizing digital marketing for new entrepreneurs.
The other workshops focused on basic industrial challenges including sustainable connection and digital infrastructure for equitable development, cybersecurity awareness for a trustworthy human firewall and human-centric leadership and talent development. The participants were made aware of the ICT Diagnostics Examination and a clear level of professional readiness was thus provided.
Apart from the speaker sessions, there were fascinating exhibits and information kiosks from various Government entities, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies and related organizations. BSIT students and faculty gained hands-on knowledge about new job openings, recruiting trends and skills to build a successful career in the digital world through direct engagement with industry experts and corporate representatives.
