CASILI, MALLIG, ISABELA — In a major community health initiative, Mallig Plains Colleges, Inc. (MPCI) is set to host a campus-wide blood letting drive themed "Give Blood, Save Lives!" on July 15, 2026. The day-long event will take place from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the CRIM BLDG, Rooms 104 & 105. Organized in close cooperation with the Cagayan Valley Medical Center and the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Mallig, this program aims to bolster local medical blood supplies while offering donors free health screenings and cardiovascular benefits, such as lowered cholesterol and balanced iron levels.

To participate, volunteers must meet specific health criteria, including being between 16 and 65 years old (with 16 and 17-year-olds requiring parental consent) and weighing at least 110 lbs (50 kgs). Potential donors must have stable vital signs, a temperature of 37°C, and be free from disqualifying conditions such as pregnancy, acute fever, recent surgeries, or recent tattoos and piercings. Ahead of the drive, participants are advised to get plenty of sleep, eat a non-fatty meal, drink ample fluids, and strictly avoid alcohol or medication for 24 hours beforehand.
